A Scoping Review of Living Lab Literature in Korea: Focused on Health and Welfare

Abstract
As the need for research and development increases concerning social problems, and Korea Living Lab research has grown. Thus, this study reviewed the Living Lab literature in Korea, identified research trends, and suggested the direction of Living Lab research for the health and welfare sectors. This study classified a total of 286 articles published in Korea from January, 2013 to October, 2021, and analyzed by using scoping review methodology their general characteristics, Living Lab research subjects, research stage, research data sources. For the health and welfare literature in the evaluation stage was reviewed by the type, stakeholders, intervention, research methods, output, and funding institutions. Our analysis found that, in order for health and welfare Living Lab research to lead to policy changes with persistence, research should be conducted in consideration of the spread of results, and it is necessary to develop a data collection method to grasp the needs of the subject in more depth. In addition, Living Lab research is required based on the principle of proportional universalism considering the vulnerability of the research subjects. This article is significant in that it investigated the characteristics and trends of Living Lab research and provided basic data to health and welfare Living Lab research.
